Para crear una versión de metal macizo del tamaño de un anillo con la compleja forma del reloj Casio, fue necesario utilizar moldeo por inyección de metal (MIM), un método de procesamiento de metales en el que se inyecta una mezcla de polvos metálicos finos y resina en moldes. La caja, el fondo de caja y el anillo se moldean en una sola pieza, reproduciendo fielmente incluso el diseño de hoyuelos de la correa. Una técnica de adhesión de vidrio garantiza un sellado hermético. El reloj está fabricado para ser resistente al agua y, al mismo tiempo, permitir la sustitución de la pila. El anillo tiene un diámetro interior de 20 mm y una circunferencia de 62,8 mm, lo que se ajusta a un dedo de talla 22 (EE. UU. 10,5, UE U). Se incluyen dos espaciadores de ajuste de tamaño en talla 19 (diámetro interior de 19 mm) y 16 (diámetro interior de 18 mm).

Un módulo en miniatura que lo hace todo posible

El módulo de reloj estándar se reduce en un factor de 10 utilizando un montaje optimizado de alta densidad y una batería más pequeña para crear un reloj digital de 3 botones que cabe en el dedo. La pantalla LCD de 6 dígitos no solo muestra la hora con precisión de segundos, sino que también cuenta con calendario, doble horario y cronómetro.

Para hacerlo posible, tuvimos que utilizar un método especial de procesamiento de metales para inyectar una mezcla de finos polvos metálicos y resina en un molde. Con un diámetro interior de 20 mm y una circunferencia de 62,8 mm, el anillo se adapta a un dedo de talla 22 (EE. UU. 10,5, UE U) e incluye dos espaciadores de ajuste de tamaño, en talla 19 (diámetro interior de 19 mm) y 16 (diámetro interior de 18 mm).

Hemos reducido el módulo de reloj estándar en un factor de 10 y lo hemos combinado con una pequeña pila de botón para crear un reloj digital de 3 botones que cabe en el dedo. Incluso con este tamaño tan pequeño, el reloj cuenta con una pantalla LCD de 7 segmentos que muestra no solo la hora con precisión de segundos, sino también la fecha, la hora dual y la función de cronómetro.

Preajuste la hora que desee y el reloj de anillo emitirá una sutil luz parpadeante, no solo útil para medir el tiempo, sino también un guiño poético al fugaz centelleo del tiempo.

Full-metal construction adds gleam for a stylish design

Creating a ring-sized, full-metal version of the Casio watch’s complex form required the use of metal injection molding (MIM), a method of metal processing in which a mixture of fine metal powders and resin is injected into molds. The case, case back, and ring are molded in one piece, with even the dimpled design on the band faithfully reproduced. A glass adhesive technique ensures a tight seal. The watch is built to be water-resistant while still allowing the battery to be replaced. The ring has an inner diameter of 20 mm and a circumference of 62.8 mm, fitting a size 22 finger (US 10.5, EU U). Two size-adjusting spacers in size 19 (19-mm inner diameter) and 16 (18-mm inner diameter) are included.

Miniature module making it all possible

The standard watch module is downsized by a factor of 10 using optimized, high-density mounting and a smaller battery to create a 3-button digital watch that fits on your finger. The 6-digit LCD displays not only the time down to the second, but also features calendar, dual time, and stopwatch functionality.

Pulsing light speaks to the twinkling of time

At any preset time of your choice, the ring watch will give off a subtle, pulsing glow, an emotional nod to the fleeting twinkle of time.

World innovator Casio began with the yubiwa pipe

Creative and innovative Casio continues adding to its long list of “world-firsts.” It all began with the yubiwa (finger ring) pipe, developed at Kashio Seisakujo, the predecessor of Casio Computer Co., Ltd. That revolutionary ring hit the market in 1946, right after World War II, and was a big hit. The profits would later go toward the capital needed for development of a new kind of calculator. The same ring styling of the new Casio ring watch is a nod to this very first product using original ideas and technologies to create new value.
